BACKGROUND
The IGSC Planetarium, Patna was inaugurated on 20th March 1993 & opened for general visitors from 01st April 1993 under the administrative control of Bihar Council On Science and Technology, Government of Bihar, Department of Science & Technology, Patna for popularization of Science & Technology for the benefit of students and common mass by presentation of varieties of planetarium shows. Best reason to establish a planetarium to
provide community a place where people can enjoy a guided journey of exploration through vast cosmos to which we all belong as well as to inculcate scientific temper among common masses and improve their awareness regarding science so that any misgivings, superstitions prevailing in their mind can be done away with. Hence the need for planetarium as front line artillery in the battle for science literacy is needed.
AUDITORIUM
The Centre has a fully air conditioned auditorium having a seating capacity of 224. It is well equipped with audio – visual systems, , cordless microphones etc. The auditorium is venue for all academic programs of the centre. It is available for use for like-minded organizations on payment of prescribed charges.
